At Cake Art & Design we’re asked a variety of questions relating to our cakes and services, so we thought that we would try and answer a few of them for you.
Here is a list of common questions and answers that you may find helpful!
Q: How far in advance should I order my cake?
A: We prefer 7 – 10 days’ notice for custom cakes, and 3 – 4 weeks for wedding cakes.
Q: Do I need to pay a deposit?
A: Cake Art & Design requires a 50% deposit on all custom cake orders with the balance payable on pick up; with the exception of deliveries which requires the balance to be paid one week prior to delivery.
Q: Can the Cake Art Team help me design my customer cake; whether it be a wedding, engagement, christening or birthday cake?
A: Yes! At Cake Art & Design, our experienced team members are here to assist you in designing your special occasion cake. Our retail staff and decorators will help you every step of the way; you can be assured that your cake will be a piece of cake art.
Q: How do I know what size cake to order?
A: The number of guests and the size of your servings will help to determine the size of cake required for your event.
Q: Should I use iced or fresh flowers for my cake?
A: It is personal choice based on your design. Keep in mind the time of the year and the variety of flower
Q: Does Cake Art deliver cakes?
A: Cake Art & Design offers deliver to most areas in the Sydney Metropolitan and Blue Mountains area. A delivery fee, based on the distance between our store and the final destination, is applicable. Orders for delivery must be paid for in full one week prior.
Q: How should I store the top tier of my wedding cake?
A: Remove all iced flowers and other decorations, then wrap your cake twice in cling film, and once in foil.
Try to remove all the air from between your cake and the cling film, if you have the space, an air tight container is advisable.
Store the cake in your freezer.
Cake Art & Design guarantees your fruit cake will taste sensational for up to 12 months. Ask about our special rates to re-decorate your cake for your child’s christening (if it falls within the 12-month date range).
